So I recently commissioned a video and made sure to ask the content creator if they’re okay with the details of the video and when they could possibly get it done. They tell me to tip the amount needed for it and they would get to doing it a following Sunday or Monday as they were out of town. Tuesday rolls around and I get worried so I ask if they had gone around to doing the video. They tell me they forgot to do it and would the following day after getting out of class. I say it’s fine and wait some more. Towards the end of the day I ask once more if they were able to record the video and they tell me that their professor gave them a last minute exam and she would be able to do the video after getting out of class that day. I wait some more until the next day and ask again. They tell me that they’re town was hit by a tornado and that they have no power, cell service, or home and won’t know when they would be able to do the video anymore. I gave them my condolences and tried to tell them if they could issue a refund and I would pay the exact amount again when they were ready but just told me that they’re phone barely worked and was using a hotspot and wasn’t going to be worried with this stuff right now. I told them I wish the best for them and left it at that. Did I get scammed or was it just a set of unfortunate events? I feel like I got swindled but at the same time don’t know if they actually were hurt by the tornado, that actually did happen as I saw it in the news.The content creator does not post any content at all and is sometimes active but will not answer for hours or possibly until the next day.I apologize for the long post and appreciate anyone who can lend me some advice. If y’all think I’m in the wrong I’m more than willing to take down this post. Thank you.
